Deck refinement: -2x Power of Protection, +1 Hangar Bay, +1 Honorary X-Men

This decks is about leveraging toughs with Hurricane and a resilient ally swarm with Thunderstorm.

The cornerstone of this deck is Children of the Atom. This card will allow you to gain a ready from Utopia if you play Multiple Man or Marrow from hand. Speaking of Multiple Man and Utopia, if you have Children of the Atom in play, Multiple Man will not fill up your ally limit since it's 4 with them now being considered X-Men. Multiple Man is so good for Storm because she can get them to Attack for 6 (with Thunderstorm)/Thwart for 3 and then Block 3 times! Maybe block even more (and with retaliate) via Serve and Protect. They will additionally thin your deck to help find other things you want. Be sure to try and get them to all die before a deck pass so they'll all go back in. For this reason, I'll usually prioritize giving toughs from Serve and Protect to other allies, but the board state will dictate what's correct.

More importantly, Children of the Atom will allow you to use Serve and Protect a lot more easily, so you can gain 2 tough statuses and have a teammate safely flip down or you can nullify a Scheme/Dark Design. Though, you can still technically use Serve and Protect with Marrow on the board. You can prevent the normal threat per round for the toughs if you just need them. If you haven't come across Build Support/Children of the Atom, I would prioritize keeping her in play rather than using her as a chump block.

Alternative ideas for the deck... I previously had 2 less allies for Dauntless and Symbiote Suit. Dauntless can be good because you would still have a lot of resilient allies and Ororo's Garden to keep you healthy. With the Symbiote Suit, Dauntless should always be online (possibly giving you Retaliate 2 with Hurricane) and additional stats for your Utopia and Cape readying. That said, allies are very important for this deck due to Utopia, Serve and Protect, and Mutant Protectors. There's less dead cards this way. They are also the most powerful card type in the game.

Like the idea of the deck, Storm Protection is great but I don't believe you could cheat in multiple Man with Mutant protectors since children of the atom states characters you control.

You are totally right. I should have read Children of the Atom more carefully. I don't think I would change anything knowing this, but will edit that part out of my description. Thanks!

@Castlefrank47 Well, if you play it, I hope you enjoy it :)

I made a deck with this concept a while back (Serve and Protect + Multiple Man + CotA) but with Wasp, since she can recycle both the boys and S&P back in the deck. It worked fine. Doing it with Storm makes sense, looks good!

@HeroicSkeleton I find Storm to be stronger than Wasp, generally. That said, I can see it working well. I'm just too focused on Moon Girl/Genius/Nick Fury recursion with Wasp haha.

After further plays, I don't think 2 power of protection is necessary as there are really only 6 cards that cost 2 or more. I say this because once you've play Multiple Man, you've played all of them. There are 7 Basic cards that cost 2 or more. I think I would swap 1 for a Power in All of Us and 1 for an Honorary X-Men so you can use Storm in AE for Serve and Protect. There may be better options than the 2 Mutant Protectors, but it is nice when they allow you to play Polaris or Colossus for cheap. Will have to give this more thought.

So, I have removed the Power of Protections as I/Eeeville have mentioned above. In place of those, I use Hangar Bay and Honorary X-Men (for X-Jet usage in AE and to be able to get the tough from Serve and Protect... then ready up via utopia/cape).

Apparently I have a fundamental problem of not reading cards properly. Serve and Protect is a hero interrupt. So, ignore anything I say about being able to use it like that. I think it's still good for solo and multiplayer. Better for multiplayer so you can allow your teammate to flip and negate the scheme threat. In solo, you can still negate the 1 threat/turn and get 2 toughs or if you're lucky enough to get the Scheme/Dark Designs cards in hero form.
