Villains tested with deck in standard and expert:
-Project Wideawake (Sentinel), Klaw, Ultron, Master Mold, Mansion Attack, Magneto

Master Mold villain note: Remove Professor X since Master Mold has Stalwart (and cannot be stunned or confused). Add another ally of choice.

Magneto villain note: One can add Fantomex and E.V.A. for consistent Tough removal.

*4-pack challenge: The goal is to create a competitive deck using 4 packs or fewer (the Core set and 3 or 4 others). Since all of my extra "packs" were full-scale expansions, I wanted to limit myself to just 3 packs other than the core set). While MarvelCDB indicates I'm using 5-packs, clicking on that detail shows this deck can be built with just the Core Set, NeXt Evolution, Age of Apocalypse, and Mutant Genesis.

Note regarding the "lack" of White Fox: I added White Fox to the deck for a little while but found I often didn't discard her with Bishop's Energy Absorption ability, and, when I did, I usually didn't want her in play because I had a full playing area of more effective allies in play already.

STRATEGY 1: Block with allies sparingly

One major advantage of Bishop is that he can often take hits from the villain and use his Energy Absorption ability to collect resource cards, and, if Bishop's Uniform is in play, heal up. Then on his following turn, he can use Bishop's Rifle to deal damage. Note that the Energy Absorption ability is a Response (and not a Forced Response), so there may be times when one does not want to use the ability. It's a good idea to keep an eye on what is in the discard pile to anticipate what cards one might draw next, especially if a copy of Energy Conversion is still in the deck with less than half of the deck remaining.

STRATEGY 2: Use of Multiple Voltron allies

While one will often get Randall or Malcolm in play with Sidekick on one of them, there are times when X-23 or Cable can become powerful allies with Advanced Suit attached. Of course, one will want Inspired and/or Sidearm to help their effectiveness, as appropriate.

STRATEGY 3: Cycle and Confuse

With 3 copies and Make the Call and two of Suit Up, Nick Fury and Professor X can be brought to bear regularly for card draw and to Confuse the villain, allowing Bishop to change to Alter-Ego form regularly to take advantage of his Temporally Displaced ability; in fact, that ability with often lend itself to grabbing a Stored Energy resource card to play one or the other of those allies (and often both -- Nick Fury followed by Professor X).
