Necromancy

Resurrect your discard pile by playing mostly from your discard pile. This deck is designed to relieve your fear of losing good cards to your discard. You can play or put into play most of your discard. The only cards that can't be grabbed from your discard pile are the Player Side Schemes or non-identity specific upgrades.

Make the Call

Use Make the Call to play allies from your discard pile. The only time this card is ineffective is if you draw it in your opening hand, but after that, use your Energy Absorption to get allies into your discard pile. It's also always nice whenever White Fox comes out through Energy Absorption. Just a friendly reminder that her Response is not forced. So if you're at your ally limit and you like the allies that you have, don't activate her response.

You can also call a support, Bishop's Rifle or Bishop's Uniform, or an ally through your Player Side Schemes. This makes it less stressful if those upgrades get discarded. Though the one time I discarded both Bishop's Uniform and Superpower Training, they didn't stay there for long. because of how quickly Bishop can get to a shuffle.

Make sure to enjoy flipping down to alter ego once you have Stored Energy in your discard pile. With Make the Call being an Action, you can make the call for Professor X to confuse the villain for the activation and get 3 THW to keep the main scheme safe. You can even make flipping down when you have Make the Call a pretty regular ordeal. Flipping down slows the pace of the deck because you can't use Energy Absorption so use your judgment on the right times or when you want to have a 6-card hand size. This is especially nice if you haven't discarded an important card and have a good chance to draw into it.

Keep calling Triage to heal what the uniform can’t. Keep calling Professor X for a ready or a confusion. Call Beast and chain a combo with Command Authority.

Leadership Training

This is a leadership deck that has powerful allies come into play. Use Leadership Training to siphon Make the Call back into your deck. It makes for a nice alter ego to flip down, pick up a double resource, and Make the Call since it's just an Action. Then, use Leadership Training to put that Make the Call back into your deck.

Enters Play

The only ally who needs to be played from your hand is Pixie. She's great at getting an ally back to your hand, like Professor X or Triage. She acts somewhat like Make the Call, and since Bishop is so rich, it's definitely likely that you can be playing two allies a turn if you need to. Professor X, Beast, and Triage all have "enters play" abilities. This means that Make the Call will trigger them, and they are all pretty nice.

Play from any Discard Pile

I will say, if you're playing this in multiplayer, don't forget that Make the Call lets you look through anyone's discard pile. So you don't have to wait to put something in yours, though, after turn 1, you'll always have the ability to have something in your discard pile. Not to mention, Lockjaw doesn't even need a make the call.

Web Warrior Edition

I had a blast using Necromancy to play or put into play from my discard pile. I also made a variation of this deck where you use Web Warriors because you're making the call. And once you control one Web Warrior card, you can play all of the others. If you want to go that route (because I'd rather not spam decks):

Enjoy playing through your discard pile.

"Discard pile? What discard pile? Oh, you mean my second deck?" -Bishop, probably

This looks like a ton of fun! I'm (sadly) still waiting on my copy of AoA, but this will probably be among my first Bishop decks. Can't wait to try it out!

Oh man! Can’t wait for you to get AoA! It’s been enjoyable for sure.

And man, that would’ve made for a great deck name: “Discard Pile? That’s my second deck!” :)

I love any deck that treats the discard pile as additional draw. So cool!

Nice deck and nice theme too with Bishop being a Necromancer, I can't unsee him as that in my plays now!

@Pawn, thanks so much! It was definitely a fun way to play him. And that’s totally true about how I picture him now, too!
