This is a silly deck that takes a little bit of time to build. It's based off of my "Playing Fetch with the King in Yellow" deck, but when a dog can chase a stick, it works so much better.

Tutoring for Beat Cop in your starting hand gets everything moving. With that on the table, and two Groot counters, you're good to start thwarting things down.

Once you have a few Beat Cops in play, or Surveillance Teams it's nearly impossible for threat to impact you. And, because you start with 3DEF and 2 tokens on Groot, you can just take the first attack without concern.

Bring in a bunch of side schemes with One Way or Another to get your card draw going, and use Overwatch to clear the board.

The only difficult thing is knowing when to move from defense to attack. You can get the whole board built up, getting rid of even the toughest minions, because the Beat Cops are always there to dish out damage.

Saving up for "I. AM. GROOT!" and Root Stomp are the easiest way to crush the enemy. Getting ten counters on Groot isn't that tricky, once you have all of your thwarting upgrades in place.

And then there's Lockjaw, should you ever need a quick and easy blocker. Chance Encounter pulls him to your hand, and then you can spend him as a resource to put him in the discard pile, where he can be played easily enough.

The system works.

i loved playing this deck! he went up against Drang with Guerrilla Tactics to pressure test some of those side schemes on solo. and this did great. i usually struggle to put Beat Cops in, but it went really well. like you said, the system works!
