This is a ramp-heavy Phoenix-'Pool deck mainly intended for solo play.
Phoenix' unique cards and the X-Men allies will do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to thwarting and attacking. In scenarios with beefy non-Elite allies, Mind Control can also grab one of them to help out. Tic-Tac-Toe helps keep the allies around, and if timed right can help take out the villain right after flipping them.
Tic-Tac-Toe, Blackout, Telepathy, and Telekinesis also act as resource sinks and help make sure you never have a dead turn. When you draw Mulligan you can often drop a card or two on these before playing it.
You will often be balancing on the edge when it comes to both health and threat, as Phoenix will often have to defend against the villain's attacks. You shouldn't have to flip down to alter-ego too often, but sometimes you have to. Crew Quarters is there to make sure you can heal a bit even if you can't use the basic recovery, and give you a bit extra health when you can. Professor X makes it easier to flip down occasionally even when you don't absolutely have to, though ideally you play him, have him block, and then flip down the turn after if the villain is still confused. Healing Factor will help keep your health up, but it's also fairly expensive and competes with a lot of other cards to get played.
Note that Team-Building Exercise can be used for all of your Psionic cards. Between that and X-Gene, you can play most of your unique cards while still continuing to ramp. You should be able to play a Psionic card most turns, meaning Psimitar will give you a lot of free damage.
As usual, balancing your power tokens is a key part of your strategy. If you do go Unleashed, the fact that your unique events that have extra effects are so easily playable will make give you a big power boost. Dark Phoenix showing up doesn't mean an automatic loss, even if it happens fairly early. This deck is capable of pretty heavy burst damage, so if things line up right you can blast her in a single turn.
