Once you've cycled through your deck and have a nice selection of your permanents on the field, you'll have thinned your deck and you'll start to cycle your damage and threat removal cards quickly, countering problems the villain deck throws at you with your preparation skills and retaliating with damage combos. There are also plenty of allies to hide behind so you have time to heal up and build your board state.
