(Note: Replace Comms Implant with a 2nd Call for Aid)
The goal of the deck is to activate a boosted Captain Marvel every turn while safely taking hits with Protection cards.
Captain Marvel
When fully equipped, Captain Marvel can effectively get 4 ATK, 5 THW, and will deal 1 damage each time she activates. Without events, she should activate 3 times for an easy 12 attack +3 damage, 15 thwart + 3 damage, or whatever combination of activations needed.
The deck gives her access to a total of 16 activations through her base hit points plus healing. This not only gives access to a massive amount of damage and thwarting, but Spider-Woman will also draw a card each time Captain Marvel activates.
Spider-Woman
While Captain Marvel is busy getting boosted, Spider-Woman will fill in the gaps as needed. Assuming she'll use 2 different aspects each turn, her 3/3/4 stat line makes her agile enough to respond to the villain as needed.
A few events will help her keep balanced pressure on the villain alongside Captain Marvel, dealing damage or thwarting even when defending. Unflappable leans into the expectation of defending by drawing a card against any defended attack of 5 or less (3 base stat + Armored Vest + Energy Barrier).
Other notes
Starhawk is there for a reliable Protection play, plus 2 ATK and 1 THW every turn. Just make sure Captain Marvel activates when he's off the field so that Mighty Avengers is active.
Weaknesses:
-Low villain control. Spider-Woman will be trading blows with no reliable stun/confuse.
-It's Voltron. If Captain Marvel and Call for Aid are at the bottom of the deck, she will be playing catch up for awhile.
Strengths:
-Reliability. If Captain Marvel is out by the 2nd turn, damage and threat will be well-managed.
-Versatility. With both Spider-Woman and Captain Marvel able to handle 3-4 damage/threat, and activate 1-2 times each, it's easy to spread out their effectiveness across multiple areas.
Love the idea, but… How do you play Comms Implant on Captain Marvel?
