Venom - Interview with a Vampire

I wanted to do a theme based build with Venom that required role playing building a team up between Venom and Blade. The three areas to build are:

• Venom - duh

• Blade - 6 attachments! Once your done, he will have 5 Attack with another 1 damage to an enemy. He can ready himself and do it again (12 damage in your phase, that has ranged and overkill). Blade is useful throughout the building process.

• C.I.T.T - The CITT build when complete allows you to ready yourself, Crew Quarters for you and Blade to recuperate, a Helicarrier to make your purchases less expensive, and Target Practice for Blade (another +2 to his Attack).

I tested this against expert Klaw and expert Rhino (with the Madame Hydra pack) and this deck usually won the day (Klaw can be supper lucky with his double boot draws).

When I had an easy win was when I was able get Blade out early. If you do that, then this deck will role over the Villain. The two key events are Grasping Tendrils and Ready for Action. These two cards can give you several turns in a row not taking any damage.

The other bad thing that can happen is drawing Sidearm or Laser Blaster in your initial draw without having Blade. I had really bad luck when testing and the Villain would almost always hit Shadows of the Past or the card that gives 4 threat to every side scheme in the first few turns. Even then I was able to come back and clear the board.

At the end of the day, this deck was fun in the early stages. In expert, really bad things can happen which make it a good challenge. In the later stages, once you have built up Venom and Blade, it becomes a steam roll to victory.

I found Resourceful a good card with Venom. He needs various resources to fully fire his events and to "feed" Blade. Resourceful gives you a card draw to help with this and gives you the flexibility to save it for a later turn when you don't have anything else to do.
