Ever since Vision came out, I've been wanting to build a deck that revolves around the new Meditation cards and this is the result of testing:
For the Lord Of The Rings Fans, this your Treebeard build.
The oldest Ent in Middle Earth who has survived due to his epic Mediation prowess and has now crossed over into the Marvel Universe.
Why does this build work?
Two weakness of Meditation:
- Requires Alter-Ego to use
- Requires you to Exhaust your Alter-Ego
In order to overcome those two weaknesses we need the following:
- A hero who benefits significantly from being Alter-Ego.
- A way to manage threat.
- Powerful Hero Event based cards.
Justice Groot aka Treebeard is the answer and checks those boxes.
Because of Meditation, you can afford significantly more high cost cards that would otherwise be too expensive to include in a deck like this.
This means you can build an extremely powerful engine in which you sit in Alter-Ego collecting growth tokens while Beat Cops manage threat until you're ready to flip.
The allies also help compliment this strategy with added threat removal. I've included Wraith because his ability is amazing to manage "Boost" effects and you can keep him out all game by adding a Tough status card using We Are Groot.
That way when Groot flips - its MAJOR damage with IAM GROOT and Root Stomps.
Super fun to play in solo and multiplayer. Shouldn't have much trouble taking down most expert villains.
