Are you tired of chump blocking or relying on confuse/stun-lock decks?

Me too.

This deck is built on Captain America taking down a villain all by himself. No allies (except for Agent 13) and it's extremely fun to play.

Playing this deck will literally make you feel like you're in a fist fight, trading blows with the villain and I guarantee you'll catch yourself saying "I can do this all day" - multiple times throughout a game.

It's also an extremely effective deck that I was able to take down Standard Ronan using.

Definitely recommend getting the often underused Cap Helmet out, because it might come in handy one turn while you're still building out your board

Hopefully you find it fun as well!

This is really unique! I will 100% be trying this deck. Square up, villains!

Cool deck!

The "stun lock" deck has been around since Tackle and Ms.Marvel and is indeed a frequent archetype. I'd like to point out that Unflappable protection is also a frequent protection deck.

Less seen, the "no block no stun" that relies on life gain, often seen in BP decks along Vibranium Suit like the one you built, or like this one with Momentum Shift, is among my favorites too.

Good job bringing it back to life!

Thanks @BloodVigilante and @neothechosen! I'm so excited for you both to try it. It literally feels like Cap fighting for me, so hopefully it will do the same for you.

Love this build! I was curious what your thoughts were on a replacement for Anticipation? I do not own Valkyrie yet so do not have access to it. I'm not even sure what the card does to find a suitable replacement myself LOL

@LordVader13 try tossing in two copies of Hard to Ignore to help with threat on the main scheme. Anticipation allows you to ready your hero anytime you engage with a minion.

This deck is crazy fun! Just had a run though against Rhino. Each punch felt satisfying, while feeling in control of the threat. I keep making stun-lock decks, which started to take the joy out of the game. This has definitely invigorated Cap/the game for me. Thank you!

Amazing to hear @CptRad! Happy to hear you enjoyed the deck. Felt the exact same way with stun lock taking the fun out of the game a bit when played too much.

Ha! I just found my Cap deck from 2 years ago* which does something similar. It has allies but keeps them in play with Med Teams. Cap Protection is fun - he is one hero who can carry Protection solo. I like Energy Barrier instead of some of the readying as he can already ready and it's not super impactful while Energy Barrier helps proc Desperate Defence or Unflappable.

Tried this out tonight, couple subs as I don’t have Val or Gams, made some poor decisions but took down Absorbing Man and some Hydra legions 1 threat shy of defeat with Shadows of the past in play. Only flipped to alter ego once, put that shield to heavy use and was amazed at the non stop action without any Allies out there. Super fun, but Expert is waiting for Cap tomorrow.

@JRise33 What are your thoughts on adding Dauntless? So that Cap can get retaliate 3.

Jan 12, 2022 JRise33 · 6163

Hahah love to hear you enjoyed it @CyberCoyote. Really changes the decisions you make each turn when you don't have an ally to chump block for you.

Jan 12, 2022 JRise33 · 6163

@Sky1992181 - I can't remember if I tested it with dauntless or not. If you go that route you'd probably need to swap downtime for endurance to get those extra hit points. On heavy hitting villains it might not be as good though. Great idea to try though!

Jan 12, 2022 Sky1992181 · 1

@JRise33 You recommend running two endurance? I just added it as the 41st card to test it out.

Jan 12, 2022 JRise33 · 6163

@Sky1992181 whoops forgot endurance was already in there. Ya adding it as a 41st card could work or id swap one of the first strikes.

@JRise33 I will let you know how it goes when I get the chance to test it out.

Just took out standard Ronan/under fire with this.

It wasn't the cleanest win but one of my very few wins against him.

Super fun deck!

Funny how I was making a No Ally Deck for Capt and I was going to call it, "I can do this all Alone". Turns out you beat me to it! haha Main difference is I unfortunately don't have essential cards you are using like 'unflappable'... I guess my deck would be great for beginners who dont have all the cards then. Hopefully I can play your deck one day! :)
