Having a BLAST with this deck (get it?).

The goal is to build up Captain Marvel's defense with her Cosmic flight + Helmet upgrades. Then use desperate defense and preemptive strike to avoid taking damage or do damage.

Hard Knocks is there for help against minions. Gives Captain Marvel a tough too if she KOs that minion.

I use Defensive Training to cycle Hard Knocks back into my deck.

Ever Vigilant + Cosmic flight is a fantastic combo. Ready's Captain Marvel and removes threat from the main scheme. Great card.

Luke Cage, Martyr are there to soak up his with their toughness. I like to use them with bait and switch. So I can remove 4 threat and have them soak the hit. OR if I have a desperate defense in my hand play that with Bait and switch and trigger hard to ignore or unflappable on my turn.

I think this is one of the rare protection decks that does not have any stun included. The goal is to have the villain attack you.
