“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

O frabjous day! Kaluu! Kallay!”

She chortled in her joy.

Deck Concept

Spectrum has zero cards that benefit her being in alter-ego. On the contrary, Pulsar Shield is a high-value defense card, allowing her to change to Pulsar form, heal 1, defend for at least 3, and ready, all for 1-cost, and she needs to be in hero form to use it. She needs to get back out of Pulsar form, however, so she can use her 3 THW or 3 ATK in Gamma or Photon forms and so she can heal for 1 when she uses Pulsar Shield, so she needs to guarantee she can draw Gamma Blast, Photon Speed, or Speed of Light every turn. For this, she will try to draw as much as she can every turn and put a lot of permanents on the board.

Allies

Ironheart, Kaluu, Maria Hill, Nick Fury, and White Tiger all draw cards. Kaluu, in particular, can specifically search for one of the three change-form events she needs. Squirrel Girl, Ant-Man, and Stinger are cheap allies that expand her number of allies for Strength In Numbers and provide great blockers to keep her in hero form (Stinger in particular is helpful since she doesn't count against her ally limit). Mockingbird helps her stay in hero form by stunning the villain. Hawkeye is helpful while he is being used for Strength In Numbers since he can wound minions with his arrows.

Events

Assess The Situation cycles your deck faster, allowing you to more likely draw the change-form events you need and getting you to your first reshuffle more quickly where your deck will be pleasingly thinned. Make The Call grabs the allies you need for drawing cards. Strength In Numbers can draw up to 5 cards with Stinger and Triskelion on the board.

Resources

Band Together will often be 3 resources to play Gamma Blast, Nick Fury, Avenger's Mansion, or White Tiger.

Supports

Avenger's Mansion draws cards and is easy to play with Band Together. The Triskelion allows for expanded card draw with Strength In Numbers.

Upgrades

Endurance allows Spectrum to not only stay in hero form more easily but to also soak hits more confidently, the damage from which she can then heal over time using Pulsar Shield.

I am about to build something similar. Stumbled on your build by accident.

You should consider Deft Focus (amazing resource generator, all her events are superpowers) Earth Mightiest Heroes (her basic stats are all 3 so you get good value here) Moxie - +1 to all stats for zero cost. Amazing efficiency.

I am not really sold on Strength in Numbers. You need to exhaust 2+ allies in order to get any benefit out of it and exhausting allies that just entered play is not as efficient. You want to thwart/attack with fresh allies, especially considering you have quite a few expensive ones with good numbers.

You talk about Spectrum needing to change forms every turn out of pulsar and back to one of the others. That's not how I'm reading the cards. As long as you don't switch to alter-ego, which turns your forms face down, the form cards stay face up when you switch between them. That means you get the +2 stat bonus even when you aren't in that form. Doesn't it?

@daniel915f If I’m reading you correctly, yes, you don’t need to be switching out of Pulsar form to get the +2 DEF. But the problem is if you use Pulsar Shield to switch to Pulsar, you are in a bad form for attacking or thwarting unless you have a card to switch you to Photon or Gamma. So at least when I started playing, I would sometimes use Pulsar Shield and then have a really bad next turn having only 1 ATK or 1 DEF.

*1 ATK or 1 THW.

Have you successfully used this deck to defeat Ultron in true solo? I made a Spectrum deck that's also Leadership, but relies a lot more on the allies themselves to do the dirty word, and not as much on Spectrum changing forms and using her kit events. However, this deck didn't turn out good — I played 7 games since yesterday and I'm yet to beat Ultron's metal ass... Your deck is probably a lot better, I'll try it.
