Winning Hand podcast Episode 99: Assess the Situation

It can be argued that the 5-hand size for The Vision in alter-ego is an oversight (mistake?) from the early development phase of the game. How might this be rectified in deck-building? Let's Assess the Situation.

As an Action it can be used in alter-ego. Focusing on an AE build, adding Meditation, included in his hero pack, allows Vision to exhaust to pay for more expensive supports, such as Avengers Mansion to further improve hand size via card draw.

Another tactic to adjust for reduced hand size is low cost events. Along with Assess the Situation, Directed Force boosts the already strong Superdense Strike piercing attack in Vision's hero kit. Low cost events like Reboot and First Aid provide additional readies and healing for both Vision and Vivian.

From this point, a few sets of events from any aspect can round things out depending on the scenario and multiplayer team dynamic. This deck will stick with only Basic cards. Drawing additional cards might result in a variety of resource types in hand to flex Multitalented. This mirrors Vision's Solar Beam which can provide either attack or thwart depending on the circumstances. Quincarrier supplements Solar Gem to provide the exact resource desired.

Finally, Down Time and Jarvis boost recovery regardless of whether Vision is in Intangible or Dense form in alter-ego.
