A follow up to a recent deck I did in aggression found here: https://marvelcdb.com/deck/view/868362?deck_name=One%20Red%20Focus
The approach was inspired by Adam Warlock's deckbuilding restrictions. The idea is to create decks without any duplicate cards. I thought Iron Man was a good choice in yellow as he is more concerned with his own kit than the consistency you might want from an aspect. Cards like Beat Cop, Disguise, and Under Surveillance are all great options if you find them early but are not required. Allies can do the thwarting while you build or you can flip up early with Lay Down the Law or One Way or Anotherin a pinch. The endgame is going to play out much like any other Iron Man game, fully built out and wrecking the villains.

Jan 30, 2025I definitely agree. These decks have been a big deviation from how I usually play. I find I am much more set-up and combo focused. But what I like about these decks is that they have forced me to think a bit more with tempo and simply analyze each hand with what's the best move right now. |
One thing I was thinking about your one focus decks is that they must feel more puzzly. Like with most decks there are 3 copies of everything, so you get a fine tuned strategy and keep doing it. With these decks you you have to think on your feet more. It is interesting. I hope this catches on.
