I've had a few days to play around with Magneto and he's an absolute blast. His kit is already so powerful, and he doesn't really have any glaring weaknesses other than maybe a higher than average cost curve.

If there's anything that bugged me about playing him, however, it's that he only has one copy of Magnetic Bubble in the deck. I mean come on, this is the Master of Magnetism we're talking about here! He should be raining death upon his enemies from an untouchable sphere of energy in the sky at all times. Or at least that's how I imagine him.

Anyway, it seemed to me that the best way to fix what was clearly an oversight by Fantasy Flight Games was to run him in Protection. Because of his high-ish cost curve, I also thought it was important to steer away from villain phase defense events to as not to leave him short-handed in the player phase.

Energy Barrier does the job that having more Magnetic Bubbles would have done, and What Doesn't Kill Me is there for healing if anything gets by our barrier. Hard Knocks helps out with damage (and a tough card if played at the right time). I threw in an Adrenaline Rush for those times that you have the cape out and draw into What Doesn't Kill Me and are looking at multiple attacks in the player phase. Superpower Training can help pull one of Maggie's delicious upgrades (Helmet or Cape are much better than the Armor). All of the allies are X-Men so that Protective Training can be played on any one of them.

"Come Get Me, Bub!" is here for one reason - it's a total bummer to draw into Wrapped in Metal with no minion to use it on. CGMB lets you force one out so that you can suck the life out of it like some kind of freaky mutant vampire boa constrictor before tossing the remains at your enemies. Good times!

Anyway, hope you enjoy it - I think there's a lot of wiggle room here to do what you want. Have fun defeating your enemies while keeping your fancy white suit (mostly) unmussed in true Magneto fashion!

LOVE Hard Knocks as mini Metal Shards and Energy Barriers as mini Magnetic Bubbles. Really really cool idea!
